Complete GCSE vocab list in German and English. I replaced the usual prosaic topic and sub-topic titles with song and film titles, song lyrics and some obscure quotations in a desperate attempt to make some of my revision-shy pupils look through it.
Jumbled dialogue between, Santa, who has misplaced his reindeer, and an elf, who finds them in his garden. The dialogue can be reassembled in many different ways. You could model a dialogue first and them ask them to improvise something similar, before asking them to write up a plausible dialogue.

Four short Foundation Level texts in which young Germans talk about their plans or lack of plans for work experience. Texts are followed by comprehension exercises in German, a 'Find the phrase' activity, a manipulation exercise, and a writing task supported by a toolkit
Playscript. An unlikely dialogue in which Belletrix Lestrange from Harry Potter and Bella from Twighlight discuss their differing approaches to health and fitness. A disagreement ensues about Voldemort's nose. Having practised and performed the playscript, students could (i) devise a dialogue in which two different fictional characters discuss the issue of health and fitness or (ii) devise a dialogue in which Bella and Belletrix take on a different GCSE topic.
The simplified taxonomies can be used to show to students and observers (i) how certain activities demand greater engagement on the part of the learner and (ii) the progression in your lesson in terms of pupils' thinking. Created in collaboration with Rachel Roberts and the MFL team at Gordano.
